Common Buzzard

This project is based on tracking movement of two model species. Model species #1 is the Common Buzzard Buteo buteo. It is the dietary generalist and locally the most numerous representative of birds of prey.

It is probably also the most common bird of prey in most of European countries and a flexible generalist, feeding on diurnal rodents (mainly voles) and wide range of birds, but also reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.

We plan to follow movements of males in forests of different structure and link the movement with habitat structure and diet.
